About Journey Groups
When Journey began in September of 2005, we had to determine what strategy we would use to help us accomplish our mission at Journey. We knew that our leader, Jesus Christ, had given us the task of
helping people follow Him. We also knew that in order for Journey to remain true to it's values, we needed to create an environment where people could connect in authentic relationships and experience life change. Journey Groups accomplishes both of these goals. Most of the groups at Journey are open to receive new group members. There are, however, some groups that are at
capacity or because of the nature of the group are not in a position to add group members. Those groups are labeled "full" on the 'find a group' page. Once engaged in a group, we believe that as group members extend grace to one another with the truth of God's Word over time, life change happens. In addition, each group works at applying the habits of care, safety, authenticity, growth, and help as the group progresses through it's various stages.
Group Launch
For many, the thought of jumping into a group in someone else's home without knowing them is a huge deal. At Journey we try to help with that step and allow you to learn about groups and meet those in your potential group in a much less intimidating setting. We call it "Group Launch." During the four week "Group Launch" we gather at the church space, learn about group life, and 'practice' what happens in group. Relationships form, new groups are formed, and you are equipped as a great group member and potentially a great group leader. "Group Launch" occurs three times a year; January, April, and September.
