Life of A Group Leader
Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind… Love your neighbor as yourself. Matthew 22:37-39
Leadership is exciting but also comes with responsibility. As a leader of a group, you are in the position of a shepherd. A shepherd knows his or her sheep and in the same manner, we as a leadership team depend on our group leaders to help us meet the needs of those who come to Journey. So, it goes without saying that if you are looking to lead, there are some basics about what that entails.
First of all, we ask each person that is interested in leading a group to begin as an apprentice. An apprentice simply assists the leader in shepherding the group for three to six months. Once a potential leader apprentices, they then participate in a two week leadership training practicum that equips them with the necessary tools to begin leading others. Following the leadership training, they attend Group Launch fro four weeks at the designated campus where their group is formed and then launched into a home. Below are listed the job descriptions for each area of leadership within Journey Groups. q
